BSP Donates $15,000 to support kids battling cancer.
BSP Financial Group Limited (BSP) has presented a timely donation of $15,000 to the Walk on Walk Strong (WOWS) Kids Fiji Foundation to support kids battling cancer.
BSP Country Head Haroon Ali said, “The WOWS Kids Fiji Foundation is close to our hearts as these little superheroes continue to battle against cancer. Our donation will go towards ensuring these children have access to their treatment and receive the much-needed support during their journey towards remission and recovery”.
“Through this latest donation, I am delighted to confirm that from 2010 to date, our support for WOWS has surpassed $150,000,” he added. “The fight against cancer requires a lot of support and we acknowledge the incredible volunteers who invest their time in serving the cancer patients and their families”.

WOWS Kids Foundation co-founder Sina Kami welcomed BSP’s support which arrived as a timely Christmas gift for such deserving children who are in the fight of their lives. “Donations to WOWS allows us to maintain our core services and that is to pay for the costs of medications and transportation for the children including other support services like accommodation for the child and caregiver during lengthy treatments, either in Suva or Lautoka. Maintaining our services to the children and their families is proving to be a challenge at this time of the pandemic. We are grateful to BSP for their longstanding association with us and this generous donation will go a long way in helping our children get the support and treatment they need”.
According to WOWS, research shows there is an average of 20 new cases of childhood cancer reported in Fiji every year. From the current baseline information per child supported to date, the majority of children living with cancer are from families that require financial and other forms of assistance in this fight. “Sadly, 11 children have lost their lives to this disease so far this year. And we continue to fight alongside 81 children still under our care”, she confirmed.
WOWS Fiji remains one of the longest sponsorship commitments for BSP, this being the 12th straight year of its annual donations.
